The Magic of Motivation is forty five minutes long and I incorporate important themes for personal success with the magic tricks they watch.
For Example:
I use three uneven ropes can teach that everyone is equal and Unique. I use a stick with with pom poms to teach the importance of having Goals and a plan. I float a student while I talk about the importance of dreams and imagination . I share how winners never quit using records and cards. Through it all I share the importance of Believing in oneself.
The show is highly interactive with the audience. I like to do this because, student's don't want to just sit and watch a show, they like to be actively involved in what's going on. I find too that when they are involved, they remember the lessons more clearly.
I have question period afterwards so students have a chance to learn a little about the field of magic and what it has to offer. Students will learn how important it is to have goals, whether you are mastering fractions or cutting people in half. The show reinforces how many of the skills we learn are incremental, and build on previous knowledge. Finally the show emphasizes that learning is important throughout life.
The show has a lot of energy, as a performer I realize that gets the students quite excited. The last segment in the show is geared to settling them down, so they are ready to learn in their next class.
